Honours List for SLA School Librarian of the Year 2007
I am delighted to announce that I am one of six school librarians in the Honours List for SLA School Librarian of the Year 2007.
Michael Morpurgo was special guest at the celebrations today at the Tower of London. After telling the story of when he took 40 infant children to visit the Tower, he presented Honour List certificates.
This was followed by presentations about the Honour List librarians by their schools, interviews, and lunch.

The Honour List librarians:
Frances Lincoln Children's Books
Hodder Books
Macmillan Children's Books
Orchard Books
Oxford University Press
Random House Children's Books
Scholastic
Walker Books.
The School Library Association (SLA) created this Award in 2004 in response to the need for recognition of the excellent work that is carried out in school libraries every day. It is intended to recognise best practice through celebrating those whose work is outstanding. Nominees may be from any phase of education. The award is sponsored by Micro Librarian Systems.
The SLA School Librarian of the Year 2007 will be announced by the SLA President, Gervase Phinn, at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on 16 May.
